Thought for Day 12 of 2015: Try Praying

If you haven’t ever prayed or if you have not prayed lately, you can find out how valuable prayer is.  You do not have to be religious to look for deeper meaning in the ways things really are. Prayer has a way for reminding us that there is greater power in the universe.

We cannot always control what happens to us but we can control how we react. In those moments when we choose to give our worries to a higher power, those worries seem less significant.  Prayer helps us so handle difficulties in way that gives us strength, faith and perseverance.

There are prayers that you can practice that are not related to a specific faith. Here is one of my favorites:

A Parent’s Simple Prayer

May blessings be upon my family

Bless me with the means to provide

blessings of a home and enough to eat.

Bless my family with with safety and security

blessings of love and health, be with them, always.

Bless my children with a very good education,

blessings of laughter, discipline and peace of mind.

These things, May I bless my family with today.
