How to live with Arthritis – Guest Post by Jonathan Jenkins

If you are unfortunate enough to suffer from Arthritis, you will no doubt know how this debilitating condition can affect every aspect of your life. Is there any way you can learn to live with Arthritis?

Even if you have Arthritis, life still goes on, and like everyone else, you continue to have responsibilities. Whether it is family or friends, hobbies or pets, you will find that even if you are in pain there are still things that need to be done.

Quite often, you will think that you will not be able to cope with the symptoms, plus the added pressure of your life. For this reason alone, you need to find a way of achieving what you need to do each day.

Simplify your life

The best way to get everything done is by simplifying your life. Make a list of things that need to be done each day and think about how you can accomplish these goals with the least amount of effort.  By writing this all down you will begin you start formulating a plan of action.

Studies have shown that if you are proactive in your fight against Arthritis, and are willing to take an active part in finding a way to deal with the physical limitations of this condition, you will be able to reduce the pain and fatigue normally experienced.

Organize, plan and prioritize

Those who suffer from Arthritis should make sure they can organize, plan and prioritize their lives. Through doing this, you will be surprised with how much you can achieve each and every day.

Another thing you can do to help you learn to live with this condition is to find an occupational therapist who can teach you the best ways to get through your daily routine, while making the best use of your energy.

It is also important that you try and get a good night’s sleep, although we all know how difficult this can sometimes be.

Finally, if you are in a relationship it is important that you take control of your sex life. Even with Arthritis, you still need to look after your love life.
